The very first centuries of Islam were marked by two major facts indissolubly linked which determined the historical and spiritual evolutions of this religion until our days: the elaboration of the scriptural sources, namely the Koran and the Hadith, and a chronic violence manifested mainly in the form of civil wars.
For the first time, a work studies the articulation between the two phenomena through the careful examination of the history of ancient texts as important as they are little known. It offers a new reading grid, a new framework for theorizing the history of the beginnings of Islam, shedding light, by putting them in perspective, even to contemporary tensions.
