The notebooks before the fall are there to print History and write it down black on white. They are there to tell how women and men stood up one day to say no to tyranny, oppression, humiliation and injustice. Like in the movies, but there for good, rage in his fist, bulging his chest against the oppressor, without knowing how it will all end. But what matters, isn't it the path taken?
During the last major uprisings of the Iranian people, in 1999, 2009, 2018, 2019 and 2021, censorship in the country did not allow any paper journal to follow the events and report them. Today, only electronic traces remain on the web, as well as articles published in foreign newspapers and magazines.
The main means of communication of the 2022 uprising, which are social networks (twitter and instagram) and a few diaspora television channels, leaving no room for in-depth analysis (which sometimes makes it possible to qualify the ambient and official discourse of the movement), the paper medium appeared to us as an obvious necessity in this path towards the freedom of the Iranian people.
We will publish in these notebooks before the fall the events and the daily testimonies, articles and analyzes of the leaders, thinkers and makers of this revolution, as well as interviews to better take the pulse of this fabulous human adventure. What's more in three languages, Persian, French and English and maybe more in the near future.
The revolution is a movement which obeys the necessity of a people and this necessity obeys History. Here, we engrave and document history. Here is written the story of a people who knew how to say NO and disobey when everything pushed them to submission. Here is written the history of men and women, from their refusal to submit to the moment when their freedom will be acquired.
