Persian, which we want to study, is the language of a great culture and many peoples exceeding one hundred million human beings. For more than a thousand years, this language has lived in its evolution and its outbursts. It is the crucible of the poetic and mystical thought of different ethnic groups. Going through historical upheavals, it has grown stronger to serve us in our search for a universal identity. Persian, the key to opening the gate of a castle of treasures, will be used to understand and communicate with an immense culture. In addition, let us not forget the privileged strategic place of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan on the political and economic scene of this part of the globe. This book contains the fundamental grammatical rules of the language. To resolve the pronunciation difficulties, we have opted for the transliteration of the sentences given as an example. A chapter is also devoted to the lexicon of texts in Persian, chosen from among contemporary authors. Starting from minimal sentences, the apprentice will be able to integrate the grammatical structure and enrich his vocabulary. He will thus be able to appreciate the fluidity of this language and the ease of its learning.
